Allemaengel Plein Air was a spectacular success by every measure! Congrats to Jon Bond and the Albany Township Historical Society for planning and staging the event; juried artists had two days (Oct. 10 & 11) to capture facets of the abundant beauty and character of rural Albany Township on canvas, followed by a 3-hour exhibit at the Kempton Fire Hall on 10/12.
I had 3 pieces in the show, all done on a long, sunny Thursday so I could use Friday to frame them and then get ready for my own reception at Art Plus Gallery that evening. The Allemangel Plein Air exhibit officially opened at 6pm on Saturday. We got there at 6:05 to find the spacious hall packed. It was equally surprising to see virtually no one at a sumptuous buffet for the first half hour–everyone was looking at the art. Thanks to the throng of enthusiastic visitors for the kind words and support (all 3 of my entries were purchased). And special thanks to judge Sandra Corpora for awarding my 9 x 12” oil “Winding Up at Hawk Mountain” Best in Show. |
